National Folk Festival

The National Folk Festival is Australia's longest running major folk festival bringing over 40,000 attendees to Canberra during the Easter long weekend each year. The Festival features an A-list of national and international performers in the folk genre and provides a range of engagement for its patrons from multiple music stages to community workshops and street food stalls.

Dionysus was engaged to reinvigorate and lead the festival’s communications for its 54th anniversary in 2020. Michael Liu worked closely with the festival team to bring the event’s communications into the 21st century and establish strong media partnerships. Unfortunately the festival had to be cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
